PANews, October 23: The Ethereum Foundation announced that the “Glamsterdam” upgrade, originally scheduled for October 27 (Epoch 132,352) on the Hoodi testnet, has been postponed to further investigate the interaction effects between EIP-8037 and mainnet smart contracts. A new activation date has not yet been determined. This delay cancels the previously planned “Amsterdam” execution layer and “Gloas” consensus layer activations. Additionally, the plan to increase Hoodi’s gas limit to 200 million at the same epoch has also been canceled. This action only retracts the configuration for future upgrades and will not roll back Hoodi’s on-chain history.

Ethereum news: The Ethereum Foundation has delayed the 'Glamsterdam' upgrade on the Holesky testnet, originally scheduled for October 27 (Epoch 132,352). The pause is intended to evaluate the impact of EIP-8037 on mainnet smart contracts. No new date has been announced. The activations of the 'Amsterdam' execution layer and 'Gloas' consensus layer have also been canceled. The planned increase of Holesky’s gas limit to 200 million at the same epoch is off. This change affects only future upgrades, not historical chain data. This update provides key on-chain news for Ethereum observers.
