eBay shares rose 0.24% to $123.20 in after-hours trading on Thursday. The California-based e-commerce platform's stock closed the regular session at $122.91, up 5.16%, according to Benzinga Pro data. eBay shares were attracting attention on Friday as Wall Street remained divided ahead of the company's third-quarter earnings report.

Morgan Stanley analyst Nathan Feather recently raised his price target to $132 from $127, according to The Fly, as cited by TradingView. Feather kept an Overweight rating and named eBay his Top Pick, according to the same account. Feather said U.S. live commerce has grown more than fivefold to $27 billion over two years. Feather estimated that eBay Live accounted for at least 40% of fiscal 2026 gross merchandise volume growth. Gross merchandise volume measures the total value of paid marketplace transactions, including shipping fees and taxes, before returns. However, Wells Fargo analyst Ken Gawrelski cut his price target to $91 from $92 earlier this week and kept an Underweight rating.

The stock move also followed eBay's release of findings from the company's 2026 Recommerce Report, published last week. eBay said the report surveyed more than 10,000 secondhand shoppers and 1,700 eBay sellers. eBay said the report points to rising consumer demand for secondhand goods. The survey found that 47% of consumers buy pre-owned goods at least monthly, up from 35% in 2025.

Among 18- to 29-year-olds, 46% shop secondhand weekly or biweekly, compared with 28% across all age groups, according to eBay. The survey found that 70% of respondents consider buying secondhand important to managing household expenses. That proportion rises to 76% among Gen Z respondents.

eBay has a market capitalization of $54.69 billion. The stock has a 52-week high of $124.59 and a 52-week low of $78.03. eBay's Relative Strength Index stands at 78.43. The stock has gained roughly 35% over the past 12 months.
