ChainThink reports that on August 5, according to Jin10, several industry insiders revealed that the large model company DeepSeek has restarted its Series B funding round, aiming to raise RMB 50 billion with a pre-money valuation of approximately RMB 500 billion, with signing expected to be completed by late August.
Several investors stated that DeepSeek’s Series B funding round had opened by mid-July, but was abruptly paused by the end of July, with some investors on the backup list being informed that plans to sign the funding agreement were put on hold.
Previous reports indicated that one reason for the suspension of funding was dissatisfaction from DeepSeek’s founder, Liang Wenhong, regarding online discussions surrounding a suspected transcript of a meeting with investors. Both DeepSeek and the prospective investors hope to proceed quietly with the funding resumption.
Currently, some investment institutions that previously showed strong interest have stated that they have not received any news regarding DeepSeek restarting its fundraising efforts, and the relevant channels remain on hold.
