DeepSeek Founder Liang Wenfeng: NVIDIA’s Moat Is Eroding, Huawei 950 Can Fully Replace NVIDIA Chips

Huo Xing Cai Jing reports that in leaked internal discussions from the DeepSeek investor meeting, DeepSeek founder Liang Wenhong outlined his core views on the development of China’s domestic AI computing industry and ecosystem. He stated that the replacement of domestic AI chips is now facing a historic opportunity, with no compatibility barriers existing between the hardware and ecosystem, and that NVIDIA cannot halt this substitution process. The only current issue is insufficient production capacity, which he expects to resolve within a year, thereby reversing market perceptions that domestic chips are “unusable” or “poorly performing.” He noted that NVIDIA’s CUDA ecosystem moat is rapidly eroding, and multiple industry shifts, combined with export controls, have created a critical window of opportunity for domestic AI chips. He revealed that DeepSeek has partnered with Huawei and secured 16,000 H950 chips to fully validate the ecosystem. Huawei’s H950 super nodes offer performance and pricing that can fully replace NVIDIA’s GB200 and GB300, and he expressed strong optimism regarding the future of China’s domestic computing industry.
