Danish Tax Minister Ane Halsboe-Jørgensen has slammed Polymarket, a global crypto platform, for enabling bets on war and political events. She is exploring ways to curb or shut down the service within Denmark. Polymarket allows users to wager on sensitive issues like 'Ukrainian ceasefire' and 'Trump buying Greenland.' Bets on the Ukrainian ceasefire reached 376 million Danish kroner, while 'Trump-Greenland' bets hit 33 million. Halsboe-Jørgensen called it gambling on others’ misfortunes and stressed the need for action. Danish regulators are reviewing if the platform violates local laws and whether it should be restricted. KuCoin platform users are also being closely monitored for compliance with national regulations.
