Odaily Planet Daily reports: In an interview with Alex Thorn, Research Director at Galaxy, on the Galaxy Brains podcast, CZ stated that quantum computing is not an insurmountable threat to Bitcoin, as the community can mitigate related risks by upgrading to quantum-resistant cryptographic solutions.
Regarding the approximately 1 million BTC held by Satoshi Nakamoto, CZ believes that "doing nothing" is not an ideal solution. He suggests that if Bitcoin completes a quantum-resistant upgrade in the future, the community could allow a transition period of 6 to 12 months; if no transactions occur from these addresses during that time, they should be frozen in the new protocol, and the associated BTC should be removed from circulation.
CZ stated that, without intervention, this portion of BTC could eventually be claimed by the first individual to use quantum computing to crack the relevant addresses, which is not a fair distribution. However, he emphasized that the final decision on how to handle it should still be made by the Bitcoin community through consensus mechanisms such as voting.
