CXMT announced the mass production of its LPDDR6 memory, with a peak speed of 12,800 Mbps, set to debut in the Xiaomi 18 Fold. This marks the first global commercial deployment of LPDDR6 and breaks the overseas monopoly in high-end memory. LPDDR6, released by JEDEC in July 2025, supports up to 16GB capacity and is critical for edge AI computing. As altcoins to watch gain attention, this daily market report highlights how domestic technological advancements are driving AI growth in smartphones, PCs, and data centers.

Huo Xing Finance reports that on August 29, CXMT officially announced the mass production of its independently developed next-generation low-power memory, LPDDR6, which will be first deployed in the Xiaomi 18 Fold flagship foldable smartphone. This marks the first commercial deployment of LPDDR6 worldwide, signifying that a Chinese memory company has broken the long-standing dominance of overseas manufacturers in high-end memory standards for the first time. According to CXMT’s semi-annual report, the performance of its LPDDR6 chip has seen comprehensive improvements over the previous LPDDR5X generation: through architectural innovation and optimized data transmission technologies, it fully unlocks data transfer potential, achieving a peak speed of 12,800 Mbps and a maximum chip capacity of 16 GB. LPDDR6 is the latest international generation of LPDDR products, with the JEDEC standards organization first releasing the LPDDR6 specification in July 2025. In March this year, industry reports confirmed that CXMT had already submitted its LPDDR6 product for testing. CXMT successfully achieved the world’s first commercial launch of LPDDR6, progressing from standard alignment and sample submission to validation and mass production. Amid the surge in AI demand, LPDDR6 is regarded as a critical pillar for unlocking edge-side AI computing power, with applications spanning smartphones, PCs, and extending to intelligent cockpits and AI data centers. This breakthrough also lays a vital foundation for Chinese terminal manufacturers, including smartphone brands, to seize AI opportunities.
