Cursor 3.11 Adds Side Chat, Conversation Search, and New Cloud Agent Hooks

According to Beating Monitor, Cursor has released update 3.11, introducing side chat and conversation search. Users can open a new chat that inherits context while continuing to work with the main Agent, allowing them to ask follow-up questions, look up information, or verify ideas without interrupting the primary task. Side chats are permanently retained and can be brought back into the main conversation using @. Cursor also supports searching past Agent conversations. Users can use Cmd+K to search through thousands of chat records in the local index, or Cmd+F to find content within the current conversation. The cloud Agent has also added a new set of Hooks. Developers can trigger actions at key points such as prompt submission, model response, reasoning, child Agent initiation, and task termination, enabling monitoring of execution, control of child Agents, or building automated correction workflows.
