Huo Xing Finance reports that on August 5, according to Reuters, AI cloud computing company CoreWeave announced its entry into Indonesia, planning to add three new data centers—the company’s first data center deployment in the Asia-Pacific region. CoreWeave stated that the three data centers will bring a total of 360 megawatts (MW) of contracted power capacity, with the company responsible for full ownership and operation of all facilities. The company noted that growing demand from Asian enterprises, AI-native companies, and governments for localized AI computing power is driving expansion of AI infrastructure into regional markets, fueled by requirements for low-latency computing and data localization. This expansion in Indonesia also includes building and training a local operations team to support the new facilities and advance the local AI industry. As of March 2026, CoreWeave operates 49 data centers globally. Due to sustained growth in demand for AI cloud infrastructure, the company has significantly increased its capital investment this year, with projected capital expenditures for 2026 ranging between $31 billion and $35 billion. Since the beginning of this year, CoreWeave has secured multi-billion-dollar cloud computing partnerships with several major tech companies, including an expanded $21 billion agreement with Meta and a multi-year cloud services agreement with Anthropic. As of this writing, CoreWeave closed up 7.16%, with a market capitalization of $50.1 billion; after hours, shares are down 1.24% at $90.76.
