Huoxing Finance reports that on August 2, Galaxy Research’s Head of Research, Alex Thorn, stated that attacks targeting Coldcard wallets are still ongoing, with an increasing number of smaller attackers and imitators now targeting remaining Coldcard mnemonic phrases. Alex Thorn noted that, through assistance provided, the identity of a user whose funds were deposited in the attack was confirmed; however, the funds were withdrawn before they could be frozen on the Duel platform, and these funds are not part of the three major waves of attacks previously identified by Galaxy Research. Previously reported, the Bitcoin hardware wallet Coldcard has been compromised, with stolen funds rising to 1,367.05 BTC, valued at approximately $88.6 million, affecting 4,585 addresses. Galaxy Research’s Head of Research, Alex Thorn, stated that the attacks are still active, and users who have not yet moved their funds should immediately transfer assets out of addresses generated by Coldcard.
