ChainThink reports that, on August 2, according to Alex Thorn, Research Director at Galaxy, attacks targeting Coldcard wallets are ongoing, with additional smaller attackers and imitators emerging to target remaining Coldcard mnemonic phrases.
Alex Thorn noted that during assistance in identifying the depositing user in the attack incident, the funds were transferred out before they could be frozen on the Duel platform, and these funds were not part of the three major waves of attacks previously identified by Galaxy Research.
Previously reported, the Bitcoin hardware wallet Coldcard was compromised; the stolen funds have now risen to 1,367.05 BTC, valued at approximately $88.6 million, affecting 4,585 addresses.
Alex Thorn warns that the attack is still ongoing; users who have not yet migrated their funds should transfer their assets out of addresses generated by Coldcard.
