PANews, July 31: Hardware wallet manufacturer COLDCARD has issued an urgent security update stating that Mk3 devices running firmware version 4.0.1 or higher, and which have not generated their seed via at least 50 independent dice rolls, are at risk of insufficient entropy. The company advises affected users to immediately initiate fund migration. COLDCARD also warns that users with Mk4 or Mk5 firmware below version 5.6.0, or Q-model firmware below version 1.5.0, should first update their firmware before generating a new seed and completing the migration. The company is currently developing a firmware update for the already discontinued Mk3 to assist impacted users with the migration process.
