According to his account, Invisible Friends consists of 5,000 looping animated invisible characters, where viewers can only see what the characters are wearing or holding. The project was first teased in November 2021, with the early team comprising coinbilly, James Curran, and developer mikker. On February 23, 2022, a charity auction raised $1.3 million, distributed among 13 charitable organizations; subsequent public minting launched at a floor price of 12 ETH—approximately $30,000 at the time—with pre-launch trading volume reaching roughly 10,000 to 15,000 ETH. The project has also collaborated with Shopify, Snapchat, Sotheby’s, and Kith. coinbilly said future efforts will focus on physical products, character animation, experimental digital content, and brand partnerships, aiming to introduce the Invisible Friends brand to users unfamiliar with NFTs.
