Hyderabad police arrested a former customer support agent linked to the breach, which occurred in early 2025. The exchange hack involved unauthorized access to customer data, including names, addresses, and email contacts. Passwords were not compromised. Coinbase estimates losses between $180 million and $400 million. The company has since improved internal controls and employee monitoring.
