According to HashNews, Coinbase has integrated its x402 internet payment protocol with Concordium's identity and age verification system to support AI-driven stablecoin payments. The collaboration, announced on Tuesday, aims to enable AI applications to pay for age-restricted goods and services such as travel bookings, online content, and gaming. Concordium CEO Boris Bohrer-Bilowitzki stated the partnership seeks to 'scale verification for stablecoin payments.' The x402 protocol, launched in May, allows for pay-per-use internet payments via HTTP, enabling direct payments through standard web requests without login or complex verification. Concordium has also expanded its age verification tools through partnerships, including one with Bitcoin.com, to support stablecoin payment verification across 75 million wallets.
