A CNN poll on November 4, 2026, shows that 20% of Trump’s 2024 supporters now disapprove of his performance. Approximately 60% of voters criticize his leadership, citing inflation data and economic challenges as primary concerns. Rising prices and the effects of policy decisions are viewed as major contributing factors. The Fear & Greed Index reflects increasing public unease.

Huo Xing Finance reports that, on November 4, preliminary nationwide results from CNN’s voter poll indicate widespread dissatisfaction among voters regarding the state of the nation, economic conditions, and President Donald Trump’s performance in office. Approximately three-quarters of voters nationwide said they are dissatisfied with—or even more pessimistic about—the country’s direction, with about 40% describing themselves as “angry.” Preliminary results suggest two key factors driving this dissatisfaction: negative views of Trump and discontent with the current economic situation—how these factors will specifically play out remains to be seen, particularly in some Republican-dominated states where unexpectedly competitive Senate races have emerged. About 60% of voters nationwide disapprove of Trump’s performance, with roughly half expressing strong disapproval. Among voters who supported Trump in 2024, about one-fifth now disapprove of his performance. The proportion of voters reporting that inflation has caused them hardship is roughly similar to that in 2024. However, this time, many voters directly blame Trump. Two-thirds believe he has worsened the U.S. economy, and most attribute rising prices directly to his policies rather than factors beyond his control. A majority of voters doubt whether Trump has the right priorities and believe he places his personal interests above those of the nation. Although the president urged his base to vote as he himself is on the ballot, fewer than one-fifth of voters said they voted for their House candidate to support Trump; the rest indicated they voted against Trump or that Trump was not a decisive factor in their vote. About three-quarters of voters describe the economic situation as poor, and nearly 90% say the cost of living is a “key” or “major” factor in their voting decision.
