According to Beating Monitor, Anthropic has announced a major upgrade to its AI design and prototyping tool, Claude Design, with a focus on integrating design and development workflows. The core feature of the new version is deep bidirectional synchronization with the terminal development assistant, Claude Code: developers can extract real design system specifications from their local codebase by running the /design-sync command in Claude Code and seamlessly import them into Claude Design projects—or create and sync designs directly in the terminal using the /design command. This ensures that generated designs natively align with existing components and themes, and once design work is complete, it can be一键 handed off to Claude Code for code generation and implementation. Additionally, Claude Design has rebuilt its design system import tool to directly analyze and extract design specifications from GitHub repositories, design files, or local codebases, with automatic validation before output. The editor itself is now more stable, featuring new layout controls that allow users to drag, resize, and align elements directly on the canvas, along with support for exporting designs in PDF and PowerPoint formats. On the management and usage side, the new version introduces an Admin role for Team and Enterprise plans, enabling design leads to lock official design systems to ensure brand consistency. Claude Design now shares usage quotas with other Claude products and has optimized token consumption. This update is currently available in beta for paying users on both web and desktop platforms.
