According to The Block, Circle officially launched the Arc Layer 1 blockchain mainnet on September 16, with over 100 applications, including Aave V4 lending markets, Morpho, and Uniswap, going live on day one, supported by more than 100 institutions and ecosystem builders. Since its public testnet launched in October 2025, Arc has processed over 700 million transactions. The mainnet uses USDC for gas fees, supports sub-second transaction finality, and is EVM-compatible. The founding validator nodes include 11 institutions such as BlackRock, DTCC, ICE, Mastercard, and Visa, which will join the network in phases. This week, Circle completed the genesis minting of 10 billion ARC tokens in the United States, but emphasized that this is a technical milestone and does not constitute a commitment to a public offering. ARC is designed as a coordination mechanism for network security, utility, and governance, while USDC remains the currency for fee payments. Circle plans to transition the network from PoA to PoS by 2027 and will launch its DTC-held asset tokenization service at that time.
