Stock Preachers News Commentary
New York, October 20 /PRNewswire/ — Following last week’s AI-driven sell-off, technology stocks led a partial market rebound on Monday. According to TheStreet, the Nasdaq Composite rose approximately 1.1%, the S&P 500 increased about 0.4%, and the Dow Jones Industrial Average declined by less than 0.1%. Market activity on Monday showed clear sector divergence: memory chips and AI infrastructure rebounded, homebuilders fell after builder confidence hit a 14-year low, and the two major oil benchmarks moved in opposite directions. Tuesday’s reporting focus will center on these headline companies, but several smaller firms are directly in the path of these developments. Active companies with recent developments this week include: DHT Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: DHT), Penguin Solutions, Inc. (NASDAQ: PENG), LGI Homes, Inc. (NASDAQ: LGIH), Redwire Corporation (NYSE: RDW), and Applied Digital Corporation (NASDAQ: APLD).
Monday’s tech stock rebound was primarily driven by storage and cloud-related companies. According to Stock Analysis and TheStreet, two major U.S.-listed storage chip manufacturers rose approximately 3% to 5.5%, while a leading cloud services provider climbed about 5% following an analyst upgrade of its price target. Semiconductor stocks overall recovered part of their losses from Friday.
Crude oil price movements are even harder to interpret. Market reports indicate that trading was distorted due to the contract’s expiration on Tuesday; the November contract for West Texas Intermediate (WTI) settled at $103.66 per barrel, up $2.25, marking its highest close since September 15. Brent crude fell 31 cents to $109.55 per barrel, following President Trump’s signing of an executive order last Friday exempting certain Russian energy exports from sanctions and tariffs. The Houthi group claimed a new attack on Saudi energy and airport facilities, though Saudi authorities have not yet confirmed it; at least ten incidents involving commercial vessels were reported last week near the Strait of Hormuz.
The housing sector moved in the opposite direction. The NAHB/Wells Fargo Housing Market Index fell by 3 points to 29 in October, the lowest level since June 2012. Builders reported that buyer traffic dropped to its lowest level since April 2012, with 43% of builders lowering prices—the highest proportion since 2020 through 2026. The National Association of Home Builders cited rising mortgage rates, persistently high construction costs, and weakening consumer confidence as key factors. Homebuilder stocks generally declined, and bank stocks also underperformed, as the sector continues to digest last week’s mixed earnings reports.
Tuesday’s schedule includes a major aerospace engine manufacturer reporting third-quarter earnings before the open, a streaming leader and the largest newly listed company in the aerospace sector reporting after the close, and several large tech companies set to report earnings on Wednesday.

In its business update on October 12, DHT stated that, as of the start of the fourth quarter, approximately 50% of its available VLCC spot voyages have been secured, with an average daily rate of about $509,100 on a load-to-discharge basis; approximately 78% of all available revenue voyages for the fourth quarter have been booked, with an estimated average daily rate of about $225,200. The company estimates that the fleet’s time-charter equivalent earnings for the third quarter were approximately $141,300 per day, across a total of 2,055 revenue days.
In September, DHT also signed a three-year time charter agreement with a global energy company for the VLCC "DHT Panther," built in 2016, at a rate of $100,000 per day, with an expected commencement in October 2026. On Monday, amid a decline in Brent crude oil prices, the stock fell 2.42% to close at $23.03.
Penguin Solutions, Inc. (NASDAQ: PENG)
Penguin Solutions, which sells storage and AI infrastructure systems, announced on October 6 that its net sales for the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2026 reached a record $567 million, a 68% year-over-year increase; integrated storage revenue amounted to $340.8 million, compared to $132.2 million in the same period last year. Full-year net sales for fiscal year 2026 reached $1.73 billion, up 26% year-over-year.
The company guided for a midpoint of approximately $2.43 billion in net sales for fiscal year 2027, representing an increase of about 40%, with a ±10 percentage point range, and stated that it has established a new supply arrangement with a leading storage provider to support growing AI-driven storage demands in data centers. The stock did not follow the broader storage sector higher on Monday, falling 0.98% to $56.54, after declining 7.69% on Friday.
LGI Homes, Inc. (NASDAQ: LGIH)
LGI Homes reported on October 5 that it delivered 386 homes in September, a 9.0% increase from 354 homes delivered in the same period last year; it delivered 1,222 homes in the third quarter, a 10.4% increase from 1,107 homes delivered in the same period last year. As of September 30, the company had 151 active communities.
Despite increased deliveries, the stock fell 4.51% to $41.07 on Monday, unable to escape the weakening sentiment among homebuilders. LGI Homes will release its third-quarter earnings before the market opens on November 3 and will hold a conference call at 12:30 p.m. Eastern Time.
Redwire Corporation (NYSE: RDW)
As the aerospace sector enters a busy earnings week, Redwire has hardware en route to orbital missions. The company stated that its fourth and final pair of ROSA solar array wings, manufactured for the International Space Station, has launched aboard NASA’s CRS-35 commercial resupply mission, completing a power modernization effort; since 2021, six Redwire-manufactured wings have been deployed on the station. Redwire notes that each deployed wing provides over 20 kilowatts of power for more than ten years.
On October 5, Axiom Space awarded Redwire a follow-on contract to provide two ROSA solar arrays for the second module of its space station; in September, the company was also named one of 15 suppliers under a U.S. Space Systems Command contract framework valued at over $980 million, though Redwire noted that this contract does not guarantee revenue. On Monday, the stock rose 0.83% to $8.46.
Applied Digital Corporation (NASDAQ: APLD)
Applied Digital is building a data center campus for AI workloads, with its Polaris Forge 1 campus in North Dakota leased to an AI cloud provider. The company reported first-quarter revenue for fiscal year 2027, ended August 31, of $341.9 million, a 322% increase year-over-year, and stated that it has signed lease agreements for approximately 1.41 gigawatts of critical IT load across five campuses, representing about $36 billion in contract revenue over the initial base terms.
Polaris Forge 1 achieved a milestone of 250 megawatts in fully operational critical IT load on October 1, and the company expects its delivered load across its North Dakota campuses to reach 300 megawatts by the end of 2026. The company has also secured up to 1 gigawatt of potential power capacity in Finland, its first international market. The stock rose 6.65% to $19.25 on Monday, following a 11.48% decline on Friday.
