On June 25, China’s National Radio and Television Administration issued the "Management Notice (Classification and Tiered Standards for AI Micro-Dramas)." The regulation acknowledges AI’s role in enhancing production efficiency and reducing costs in micro-drama creation. Under the rules, projects costing RMB 800,000 or more, or addressing sensitive topics, will be classified as "Key Micro-Dramas." Those ranging from RMB 300,000 to RMB 800,000 with general themes are categorized as "Regular Micro-Dramas," while projects under RMB 300,000 are labeled "Other Micro-Dramas." The new framework takes effect on July 1, 2026. Liquidity and crypto markets remain unaffected, but this classification system may provide insights for future crypto asset classification strategies.
