Citing on-chain news, OpenAI’s first browser, ChatGPT Atlas, will cease operations on August 9, ending all updates and security patches. Launched on macOS on October 21, 2025, the product lasted less than ten months. Users must manually export their bookmarks and history as HTML files and import them into browsers such as Chrome—a process described as cumbersome and likely to cause additional issues. A potential security breach remains a concern for users who did not back up their data.
