Huo Xing Finance reports that Michael Selig, Chair of the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), stated that if the Clarity Act continues to stall due to Democratic filibusters, the CFTC will use its existing authority to begin establishing a regulatory framework for crypto asset markets and has instructed staff to rapidly advance formal rule proposals. Selig has requested staff to study incorporating digital asset market structures into CFTC rules, potentially bringing both currently registered CFTC entities and unregistered crypto exchanges under regulation. Rules tailored for digital assets may permit leveraged and margin trading. Bitcoin ETFs recorded net inflows of $606 million, the highest single-day total since May 1; Ethereum ETFs saw net inflows of $219 million, the highest since September 2025. Over the past 24 hours, liquidations of crypto market short positions exceeded $1.2 billion, nearing $5 billion over the past two days.
