News about the Federal Reserve and Bitcoin took a new turn as Cathie Wood, founder of ARK Invest, stated on January 9 that the U.S. government might directly purchase Bitcoin to build a national reserve. Wood noted that the Trump administration had established a reserve through an executive order, but so far had only used seized assets. She expects market purchases to reach 1 million BTC. Given the growing ties of Trump's family to the crypto industry and the sector's role in his election victory, Trump is likely to continue supporting cryptocurrency. The administration has already signed multiple executive orders and formed a crypto and AI task force led by David Sacks.

BlockBeats news: On January 9, Cathie Wood, founder of ARK Invest, stated that the U.S. government may begin directly purchasing Bitcoin in the future to build up a national Bitcoin strategic reserve, rather than relying solely on assets seized by law enforcement agencies.

In a recent episode of the "Bitcoin Brainstorm" podcast, Wood pointed out that although the Trump administration has established a national Bitcoin reserve through an executive order, the reserve so far has only consisted of BTC seized from criminal activities, with no purchases made from the open market. "The initial goal was to hold one million bitcoins, so I think they will eventually start buying," Wood said.

She believes that despite the pressure from the midterm elections, Trump will still place significant emphasis on the issue of cryptocurrencies, which is favorable for Bitcoin's strategic reserves. On one hand, Trump and his family are increasingly involved in the cryptocurrency industry; on the other hand, the crypto community played an important role in his victory in the presidential election.

"He doesn't want to be a 'lame-duck president'; he hopes to have one or two more productive years in office, and he sees cryptocurrency as the path to the future," said Wood.
Reports indicate that the Trump administration has signed multiple executive orders to establish a Bitcoin reserve and a cryptocurrency asset inventory, and has formed a crypto and AI task force led by David Sacks to advance industry legislation, including the GENIUS Act (stablecoin legislation).
