BTC news today reveals that French Bitcoin digital asset treasury Capital B bought 376 BTC for €25.3 million on September 7, 2026. This brings its total holdings to 3,521 BTC, valued at $275.64 million. The purchase pushed Capital B past Sweden’s H100 Group, placing it roughly 25th among publicly traded firms by Bitcoin holdings. This BTC update marks a significant shift in institutional ownership rankings.

Bitcoin digital asset treasuries (DATs) usually never miss a chance to add BTC to their vaults, no matter the price of the leading cryptocurrency. Adding to the fray, French Bitcoin DAT-Capital B bought 376 BTC for €25.3 million ($29.4 million) on the 7th of September.

This purchase was the French DAT’s largest Bitcoin acquisition in roughly a year. That said, its previous largest acquisition was 551 BTC in September 2025.

After the purchase, Capital B now owns 3,521 BTC worth $275.64 million.

Details of Capital B’s recent Bitcoin purchase

Well, the recent purchase by Capital B was made at an average price of about €67,182 per BTC. Before the purchase, its treasury’s average acquisition price stood at €90,352 per BTC.

Afterward, the average fell to €87,878. The cheaper entry therefore lowered Capital B’s overall Bitcoin acquisition cost.

Capital B has now spent €309.4 million accumulating its 3,521 BTC. In simple terms, the company is using periods of lower Bitcoin prices to increase the amount of BTC it controls.

This comes after Capital B raised €21 million from institutional investors to expand its BTC holdings. To support this initiative, strategic investors including Adam Back and TOBAM also participated.

Capital B overtakes H100 Group

Interestingly, this purchase also strengthened Capital B’s position among publicly traded companies holding Bitcoin. With 3,521 BTC, it has moved ahead of Sweden’s H100 Group, putting it around 25th among publicly traded companies by Bitcoin holdings.

However, it still remains behind Germany’s Bitcoin Group SE, which holds about 3,605 BTC, meaning more work is left to be done to rank in the top 10 Bitcoin DATs.

This strongly suggests that the competition among publicly listed companies to build large Bitcoin treasuries is not limited to the U.S., as European companies are also increasingly pursuing the same strategy.

Is Capital B following Strategy’s playbook?

This is important because Capital B is following a pathway similar to companies such as Strategy. Though Strategy has so far sold 6,916 BTC in 2026 alone, it still remains the largest BTC DAT holder, with 845,050 BTC.

All this happens as Bitcoin was changing hands at $78,469.40 at press time after a drop of 1.2% in the past 24 hours.

Meanwhile, the stock price of Capital B was trading at €4.89 after a drop of 5.82% in the past trading day but a 496.34% hike in the year so far.

Final Summary

  • Capital B owns 3,521 BTC worth $275.64 million at an average acquisition price of €87,878 per BTC.
  • The firm has outpaced Sweden’s H100 Group, putting it around 25th among publicly traded Bitcoin DATs.
