Derived from 币界网, Canaan has signed an agreement to supply Bitcoin mining equipment to a major Japanese utility company for a grid stability research project, marking Japan's first publicly disclosed government-related mining initiative. The project, led by an unnamed regional utility, will use Canaan's water-cooled Avalon A1566HA servers to stabilize regional grid loads by dynamically adjusting hash power and voltage. The company expects the facility to begin operations by late 2025 and plans to expand similar deployments in Asia, North America, and Europe by 2026.
