Brooklyn court has filed a lawsuit against Ronald Spektor, a suspect in a Coinbase customer service fraud case involving $16 million. The suspect used phishing and social engineering to impersonate KuCoin customer service and Coinbase support staff, stealing funds from about 100 users. He now faces 31 charges, including grand larceny and money laundering. Authorities seized $105,000 in cash and $400,000 in crypto. The district attorney is tracking more allegedly stolen assets.
