According to Brazil’s Central Bank (BCB), liquidity and crypto market activity in Brazil dropped to $572 million in July, an 80% decline from June’s $2.6 billion. BCB’s Fernando Rocha attributed the decline to AML (Anti-Money Laundering) measures and governance changes. Cumulative crypto purchase volume for 2026 reached $15.25 billion, doubling the same period in 2025, with most transactions involving stablecoins.

Odaily Planet Daily reports: According to data from Brazil’s Central Bank (BCB), cryptocurrency purchases in July amounted to $572 million, a nearly 80% decline from $2.6 billion in June and a nearly 60% decline from $1.4 billion in July 2025.

Fernando Rocha, head of the statistical department at Brazil’s Central Bank, said that the recent changes are part of cryptocurrency exchanges adapting to the new regulatory environment for digital assets, with anti-money laundering controls and governance requirements being significant factors in the reduced trading volume.

Since 2026, Brazil's cumulative cryptocurrency purchases have reached $15.25 billion, more than doubling from $7.6 billion during the same period in 2025. The BCB stated that most of these transactions involved stablecoins. (Bitcoin.com News)
