Brazil’s Central Bank is launching a real-time crypto scam alert system with Hypernative to monitor and respond to digital asset threats. This follows an $180 million theft in July 2025, where hackers exploited a C&M software vulnerability to siphon funds into Bitcoin and USDT. Foxbit and Mercado Bitcoin will integrate the system in two weeks. Institutions have already tested the tool and issued early warnings. Brazil will also freeze crypto transfers exceeding $10,000 for 24 hours. The initiative represents a significant step in digital asset regulation for the region.

Odaily Planet Daily reports that Brazil’s Central Bank has developed a real-time early warning system for cryptocurrency threats and is collaborating with digital asset threat protection company Hypernative to provide banks and domestic cryptocurrency exchanges with support in attack identification, response, and fund tracking.

In July 2025, cybercriminals exploited a software vulnerability at the financial software middleware company C&M to steal $180 million from financial systems, converting part of the funds into Bitcoin and USDT through exchanges. The incident prompted Brazil’s central bank to accelerate the development of related systems.

Regina Pedroso, Executive Director of the Brazilian Tokenization Association (ABToken), said the system will begin integration within the next two weeks, with Foxbit and Mercado Bitcoin participating in implementation. Relevant agencies have completed testing and issued partial alerts; Brazil will also implement a 24-hour preventive hold on cryptocurrency transfers exceeding $10,000 in a single transaction or cumulative daily amount.
