According to Mars Finance, data from Brazil’s Central Bank (BCB) shows that cryptocurrency purchases in July amounted to $572 million, a nearly 80% decline from $2.6 billion in June and nearly a 60% drop from $1.4 billion in July 2025. Fernando Rocha, head of the BCB’s statistical department, stated that these changes reflect cryptocurrency exchanges adapting to a new regulatory environment for digital assets, with anti-money laundering controls and governance requirements being key factors in the reduced transaction volume. Since 2026, cumulative cryptocurrency purchases in Brazil have reached $15.25 billion, more than doubling the $7.6 billion recorded during the same period in 2025. The BCB noted that most of these transactions involve stablecoins.
