Based on Bijiie, BNB Chain is set to launch a major network upgrade called 'Scalable DB,' aimed at improving speed and performance. The upgrade segments data into specialized databases, enabling faster node synchronization and reduced validator latency. The team also introduced a shared caching system and state sharding to enhance scalability and throughput. Early tests showed a 70-75% improvement in write operations and 12% in read speeds under multi-threaded mode. In addition, BNB has seen a series of upgrades, including the Maxwell hard fork in June, which halved block time, and the Pascal hard fork in March, which introduced smart contract wallets and EIP-7702 compatibility. Despite a recent price decline, BNB remains the top-performing major cryptocurrency this year, with a 53.6% gain year-to-date.
