U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs continue to face pressure. Latest market data shows a combined net outflow of $213.85 million in a single day, with funds exiting for 18 consecutive trading days, indicating ongoing contraction in institutional allocation.
IBIT and GBTC lead in outflows
BlackRock’s IBIT was the product with the highest daily outflow, recording a net outflow of $148.5 million in a single day. Grayscale’s GBTC also continued to experience outflows, with a net outflow of $87.91 million on the day.
However, not all products in the market weakened in tandem. A few funds still recorded modest net inflows, though not enough to reverse the overall trend.
- Fidelity FBTC daily net inflow: $4.04 million
- Grayscale Mini BTC attracts $17.52 million in new funding
- WisdomTree BTCW had net inflows of $9.8 million
Funds shift to secondary products
Looking at the daily distribution, some institutional funds did not fully exit Bitcoin-related products but instead shifted to ETFs with smaller sizes or different fee structures. While secondary products absorbed a portion of the new inflows, their overall capacity to absorb funds remains limited.
This suggests that the current market is more about institutional portfolio rebalancing rather than a broad return of capital. Continued outflows from top ETFs are still suppressing sector sentiment.
High interest rates and tech stocks divert demand
The report notes that industry analysts generally believe the recent weak performance of Bitcoin ETFs has been influenced by several factors. First, some institutional funds are shifting away from highly volatile digital assets toward large-cap technology stocks related to AI. Second, with the regulatory outlook still unclear, some investors have opted to remain on the sidelines.
In addition, expectations that interest rates may remain high have led some institutional investors seeking short-term returns to reduce their positions in crypto ETFs to manage risk.
Overall, U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs remain in a phase of sustained outflows. If the leading products fail to resume net inflows, market sentiment regarding institutional demand may remain cautious.
