BlackRock's iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) recorded $665.16 million in net inflows on Monday, according to SoSoValue data. The inflow was IBIT's largest daily net inflow in the past year and the biggest since October 7, 2025. U.S. spot bitcoin ETFs recorded $526.6 million in net inflows for the day, driven by IBIT. Outflows from Fidelity's and Grayscale's funds partially offset IBIT's inflow.

Spot ether ETFs recorded $103.3 million in net outflows on Monday. The outflows extended the funds' negative streak to four days. Bitcoin remained within a tight $82,000 to $83,000 consolidation range amid fears that further interest-rate hikes could weigh on broader risk assets.

Zeus Research analyst Dominick John said BlackRock's inflows signal resilient institutional demand despite macroeconomic pressures and bitcoin's uneven price movements. John said persistent price resistance suggests selling pressure is absorbing ETF buying. John said fears of interest-rate hikes are weighing on broader risk appetite.

IBIT is the largest spot bitcoin ETF, with $66.37 billion in net assets. BlackRock, the world's largest asset manager, launched IBIT in January 2024.

Presto Research associate researcher Min Jung said the exact driver behind IBIT's inflows is unclear. Jung said investors could be positioning for bitcoin to catch up with other risk assets. Jung said bitcoin has remained largely range-bound amid a lack of crypto-specific catalysts, unlike other risk assets trading near all-time highs. Jung said current bitcoin prices are therefore relatively attractive.

However, Jung said volatility is likely to continue as uncertainty around the Federal Reserve's rate decision dampens broader risk sentiment. Jung said a sustained breakout above bitcoin's current range would require macroeconomic clarity and improved risk appetite. The Block's crypto Fear & Greed Index currently stands at 59, in the "greed" zone.

BlackRock filed for another bitcoin fund on Monday. The proposed iShares Bitcoin Managed Protect ETF would give investors downside protection and upside exposure to BlackRock's flagship bitcoin ETF, IBIT.
