The anonymous figure CobraBitcoin, long active in the Bitcoin community, said he is monitoring the "next major vulnerability incident." He noted that many of Bitcoin’s critical components are open source, meaning systems like Bitcoin Core, Lightning Network implementations, wallets, and related codebases could be rapidly analyzed by more advanced AI systems.
New model enhances exploit capabilities
This statement comes after OpenAI and Anthropic each released new models. The report notes that OpenAI launched GPT-6 Astra, while Anthropic released Claude Fable 5.1, both designed to handle longer and more complex software engineering tasks.
OpenAI stated that Astra is its first model to be widely deployed and to meet the threshold of "critical-level" cybersecurity capabilities. According to the company, this means that, with the appropriate tools and access, the model can identify previously unknown security vulnerabilities and develop new exploits for highly protected systems without requiring human guidance at each step.
