According to BeInCrypto, a Bitcoin user paid a fee of 1.6 BTC (approximately $102,800) in block 962,142 on August 12 due to an uncontrolled automated script, while the actual transaction amount was zero. The user’s automated script had Replace-by-Fee (RBF) enabled and automatically increased the fee bid every second, eventually exhausting the entire balance in the wallet. The mining pool SpiderPool mined this block and received this unexpected windfall, with the fee accounting for 88% of the block’s total fees (approximately 1.82 BTC).
