Bitcoin researchers are pushing hash-based digital signatures as a quantum-resistant upgrade. Blockstream’s Mikhail Kudinov and Jonas Nick outlined the approach in a revised paper on December 5. They argue that hash functions form a secure foundation for digital signatures in a post-quantum world. As quantum computing advances, older Bitcoin wallets—like Satoshi’s—remain at higher risk.
