Bitcoin Price Surges, Short Positions Cleared as BTC Hits $90,000

Bitcoin price today surged to $90,000 on Wednesday, up from $86,200, wiping out over $110 million in short positions within an hour. CoinGlass data shows most liquidations came from Bitcoin trading pairs. Open interest dropped as short holders either bought to cover or were liquidated. The CVD metric jumped 1,100%, showing strong buying pressure since December 1. Bitcoin’s dominance climbed to 60% from a 56.7% low in September. Julien Bittel of Global Macro Investor said Bitcoin’s move aligns with historical RSI rebounds and expects the bull run to last until 2026.
