Bitcoin price action may drive renewed corporate buying, but easy financing remains out of reach. Bitwise’s Ryan Rasmussen noted that corporate Bitcoin purchases slowed in Q3 2026, with Strategy adding 1,666 BTC compared to 83,901 BTC in Q2. Other publicly traded companies added 5,617 BTC, down from 45,725 BTC. Rasmussen expects buying activity to accelerate this year. Bitfinex’s Jag Kooner said a rebound in treasury stock premiums could reignite interest, but a return to last year’s funding frenzy is unlikely. Capital is now favoring established firms with scale and liquidity, aligning with value investing in crypto.

According to Cointelegraph, Ryan Rasmussen, Head of Research at Bitwise, stated that overall Bitcoin treasury purchases by companies slowed in the third quarter of 2026, with Strategy adding a net 1,666 BTC during the quarter—down from 83,901 BTC in the second quarter—while other publicly traded companies added a net 5,617 BTC, compared to 45,725 BTC in the prior quarter. He expects corporate Bitcoin buying to accelerate again as early as this year. Jag Kooner, Head of Derivatives at Bitfinex, said that if the premium of treasury companies’ stock prices relative to their Bitcoin holdings rebounds, it could reignite equity-driven Bitcoin purchases; however, “a return to last year’s indiscriminate funding surge is unlikely,” with capital likely prioritizing established companies with scale, liquidity, and proven track records.
