Huo Xing Cai Jing reports that Zachary Townsend, co-founder and CEO of Meanwhile, a Bitcoin life insurance company, posted that the company has completed a $37.5 million funding round from existing investors, led by Bain Capital Crypto, with participation from Haun Ventures, Framework, Pantera Capital, Digital Currents, and Apollo Global. The company’s total funding to date exceeds $180 million, and this round will be used to meet the demand for Bitcoin-denominated life insurance among families in Asia, Europe, and the Middle East. Meanwhile launched its BTC Life 1-Pay product to customers outside the U.S. in early 2026, allowing users to pay premiums in Bitcoin for a lifetime guaranteed death benefit denominated in Bitcoin. Policyholders may borrow up to 90% of the policy value after the first year, with no repayment schedule required. The company has signed agreements with 15 brokers serving affluent families across Singapore, Hong Kong, the UAE, and Switzerland, and expects premium income this year to more than double year-over-year.
