Bitcoin spot ETFs recorded $433 million in net inflows on Sept. 18, yet weekly holdings fell by about 5,700 BTC. Analyst Darkfost said Friday’s strong ETF activity failed to reverse a second straight negative week. SosoValue also reported $144 million in spot Ethereum ETF inflows that day, led by BlackRock’s ETHA.

ETF Flows Stay Negative Despite Friday Gains

According to Darkfost, Bitcoin ETF holdings lost around 5,700 BTC across the latest two negative weeks. He linked the trend to pessimistic news involving rate hikes and conflicts.

However, Friday brought stronger ETF activity. SosoValue reported $433 million in total net inflows for U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs on Sept. 18. Fidelity’s FBTC led with $311 million, while BlackRock’s IBIT recorded $108 million.

Meanwhile, Ethereum ETFs also posted positive flows. SosoValue reported $144 million in net inflows for spot Ethereum ETFs. BlackRock’s ETHA accounted for $114 million, while Fidelity’s FETH recorded $26.2449 million.

Bitcoin Price Rose Despite Weekly Outflows

The latest figures fit the broader ETF pattern shown from January 2024 through September 2026. Green bars mark daily inflows, while red bars represent outflows. The gold line tracks Bitcoin’s price. Early 2024 showed mixed ETF flows, with several inflow spikes nearing $1 billion.

Outflows also appeared, while Bitcoin traded with weaker price action through mid-2024. The flow pattern changed from October 2024 into early 2025. Several inflow spikes exceeded $1 billion, with the largest reaching about $1.3 billion to $1.4 billion.

Mid-2025 through late 2025 showed stronger Bitcoin price action. ETF inflows repeatedly reached $500 million to $1 billion during that period. Later, outflows increased, including withdrawals of roughly $500 million to $1 billion.

2026 ETF Activity Remains Mixed

Entering 2026, ETF flows continued moving between inflows and outflows. Some green bars exceeded $500 million, although red bars repeatedly interrupted the pattern. Toward the chart’s latest readings, inflows became more visible again.

However, the overall flow pattern remained mixed. Darkfost said Bitcoin still delivered a solid performance during the latest week despite the ETF holdings decline. Meanwhile, Sept. 18 data showed strong daily inflows across Bitcoin and Ethereum spot ETFs.
