Bitcoin news reports that U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs have seen $25.6 billion in inflows and $26.1 billion in outflows in 2026 through November 5, per SoSoValue. This led to a $502 million net outflow, with holdings falling to $96.65 billion from $113.29 billion. Ethereum ETFs also faced $310 million in net outflows. Exchange flows for both assets show a shift in investor sentiment ahead of year-end.

As of this writing, US spot Bitcoin (BTC) exchange-traded funds (ETFs) have taken in $25.6 billion this year and paid out $26.1 billion. That leaves 2026 net flows at minus $502 million, according to SoSoValue data through November 5.

The funds still hold $96.65 billion, down from $113.29 billion at the end of 2025. For Bitcoin holders, Wall Street’s main buying channel has added no net demand this year.

Why Flat Flows at Bitcoin ETFs Matter for Price

Spot ETFs buy real Bitcoin when investors put cash in. They sell Bitcoin when investors cash out.

That process created steady buying before. The funds took in about $35.2 billion in 2024 and $21.4 billion in 2025, SoSoValue data shows.

Trading has not slowed. Investors swapped $3.89 billion in ETF shares on November 5 alone, yet money leaving matched money arriving.

Selling picked up into November. The funds lost $869.8 million between November 2 and November 5, including $430.2 million on Thursday.

Bitcoin retested $75,000 as tech stocks fell, a move covered in Bitcoin’s 48-hour reversal. It traded near $75,500 on Friday, per SoSoValue.

Are Ethereum ETFs Losing Money Too?

Yes. US spot Ethereum (ETH) ETFs have about $310 million in net outflows this year, SoSoValue data shows.

Their assets fell from $17.95 billion to $13.04 billion over the same stretch. October was their worst month since launch, with $1.61 billion withdrawn.

On-chain analytics firm Glassnode counted 23 straight trading days of Ethereum ETF outflows as of October 31, a record.

What Could Push Bitcoin ETF Flows Back Above Zero?

Not every fund is bleeding. Morgan Stanley’s Bitcoin ETF, MSBT, has drawn $783 million in net inflows, SoSoValue data shows.

Banks are also still selling the product. Citi Wealth pitched Bitcoin ETFs to clients this week despite the outflows.

Friday’s flows had not been published as of this writing and could shift the yearly total.

To finish 2026 positive, the funds need more than $502 million in net inflows over the final eight weeks.

If they fall short, it would be the first calendar year of net outflows since US spot Bitcoin ETFs launched in January 2024.
