U.S.-listed spot Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs recorded a combined net inflow of $2.615 billion for the week ending August 21, reversing the previous week’s net outflow of $392 million and marking the strongest weekly performance since October 2025. As funds flowed back in, the prices of Bitcoin and Ethereum also strengthened in tandem.
Bitcoin ETFs saw $1.92 billion in inflows in a single week.
SoSoValue data shows that U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded a net inflow of $307 million on August 21, marking five consecutive trading days of positive inflows.
Over the past five trading days, these products attracted $298 million, $189 million, $517 million, $606 million, and $307 million respectively, totaling approximately $1.917 billion, accounting for about 73% of the total inflow into Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs.
As of August 21, the total net asset value of all U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs reached $96.07 billion, accounting for approximately 6.17% of Bitcoin’s total market capitalization. Among them, BlackRock’s IBIT累计 net inflows rose to $62.43 billion, while Fidelity’s FBTC reached $10.18 billion.
Ethereum ETFs attract nearly $700 million in five days
Ether spot ETFs also recorded net inflows for five consecutive trading days, with a single-day net inflow of $185 million on August 21, completing a five-day streak of increases.
The net inflows over these five trading days were $30.85 million, $71.47 million, $189 million, $221 million, and $185 million, totaling approximately $697 million. Prior to this, the category recorded a net outflow of $2.26 million for the week ending August 14.
As of August 21, the net asset value of U.S. spot Ethereum ETFs reached $14.3 billion, accounting for approximately 4.85% of Ethereum’s total market capitalization. Among these, BlackRock’s ETHA has累计 net inflows of $12.17 billion since its launch.
Funds flowing back in accompanied by a rapid price increase
As capital inflows increased, Bitcoin broke out of its approximately six-week trading range. The report noted that on August 21, Bitcoin rose above $76,000, gaining approximately 18% over just two days and surpassing key resistance levels at $65,000, $70,000, and $75,000.
Ethereum also rose above $2,400, increasing approximately 18% within 24 hours. On August 20, Ethereum ETFs attracted $221 million in a single day, marking the largest daily inflow since October 2025.
CoinGlass data shows that when Bitcoin broke above $70,000, the cumulative liquidations in the crypto market approached $3 billion, with losses primarily stemming from short positions. The report attributes the rally to two main sources of capital: passive covering of derivatives positions and sustained inflows into U.S. spot ETFs.
BlackRock accounts for the majority of new funds.
On the last trading day of August 21, BlackRock’s IBIT and ETHA collectively attracted $390 million, accounting for approximately 79% of the $492 million total inflow into Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs that day.
Among them, IBIT saw a single-day inflow of $239 million, accounting for nearly three-quarters of the total daily inflow into Bitcoin ETFs; ETHA’s single-day inflow accounted for 82% of the total daily inflow into Ethereum ETFs.
According to SoSoValue, as of the close on August 21, the combined net asset value of U.S. spot Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs was approximately $110.36 billion.
