ME AI message, on October 24, Programmer's Day, Bilibili (hereinafter referred to as "B站") announced the launch of the second season of the "Build in Bilibili · AI Creation Open Competition" (hereinafter referred to as the B站 AI Creation Open Competition).

The competition is built on the philosophy of “building products openly, with the audience as users,” and has no barriers based on education, profession, or development experience. Participants only need to use AI tools to create runnable, interactive products and consistently share their creative process on Bilibili. Eligible entries stand a chance to win individual prizes of up to one million yuan, access to billions of traffic impressions, and industry resource support. Creators can also identify their first users earlier, receive authentic feedback, and allow their projects to grow through community interaction, opening doors to new collaboration opportunities.
In Season 2, the Bilibili AI Creation Open competition format has been upgraded. For the first time, the main track’s judging system incorporates AI, adopting a collaborative evaluation model between AI and users. The model will analyze video performance data to select the top 30 entries, after which the registered user judging panel will vote on the shortlisted works to determine the final rankings.
The new season also introduces specialized tracks, with NVIDIA, Google, and other event partners collaborating with Bilibili’s AI Creation Open to provide technical and commercial support to participants. In subsequent stages, all parties will join forces with Bilibili to launch time-limited challenges and special awards.
NVIDIA is launching the "NVIDIA RTX Spark Local AI Competition Track" to explore technical applications and innovations in local AI. This track will offer access to the newly released RTX Spark products for outstanding ideas, providing creators with local AI computing power support.
Google has launched the "Google Go Global Innovation Challenge," supported by Google Cloud with technical resources and over $10,000 in Google Cloud credits, encouraging developers to create innovative products with global potential using Google AI and cloud services.
To incentivize the selection of outstanding AI products through community engagement, the competition also offers over a hundred million in traffic support and a cash prize pool of up to $2.2 million, with the champion eligible to claim a prize of one million dollars.
Unlike traditional hackathons, this event has no entry barriers and encourages co-creation with the community, sparking Bilibili users’ passion for AI creation. In June, the first season of the Bilibili AI Creation Open Competition launched, receiving over 30,000 submissions in just two months. More than 60% of participants, including middle school students from rural villages and stay-at-home moms, had no professional development background.
Bilibili provides creators with a diverse and inclusive incubator for AI products, enabling them to bring to life ideas that were once only in their imagination, using just their creativity and AI tools. Users actively engage by leaving comments, danmaku, and other forms of interaction to support outstanding ideas and co-create together. Bilibili’s culture of open collaboration has given rise to a wide array of AI products whose innovative concepts and forms often extend beyond the scope of traditional software and hardware applications.
For example, UP owner Dr. W, the champion of Season One, created an AI cat girl companion with distinct ACG aesthetics, designed for companionship and interaction; UP owner NFS360, currently a university student, developed a Zhou Ritual Translator that converts everyday speech into elegant, classical expressions; and UP owner AI Lab - Fan Ge created an AI-assisted blind glasses system that helps visually impaired individuals rediscover the world.
This creator model on Bilibili, publicly building AI products from scratch, has attracted numerous potential investors. In the first season, several competing AI products have already secured funding. For example, UP主 奇妙啦比-杜谦阿’s “AI Time Phone” received two rounds of investment. In his Bilibili competition video, he used AI to recreate the voice of his father, who passed away suddenly, and connected his unexpressed love and longing through a 3D-printed telephone; the Bilibili-style AI product “Danmu Interactive World” has also garnered investment interest from top-tier institutions in the millions.
From creators publicly building products, to iterating with users, to securing investment, Build in Public (BIP) has taken root on Bilibili, forming a replicable path for AI product incubation. Over the past year, new views of BIP-related content on Bilibili exceeded 800 million, ranking it as the highest among domestic platforms. Today, Bilibili has become the core hub for public creation in China.
