BBVA Expands AI Partnership with OpenAI to Accelerate Banking Transformation

BBVA has deepened its AI collaboration with OpenAI to scale ChatGPT Enterprise across 120,000 employees, a tenfold expansion. The move supports Know Your Customer protocols and Countering the Financing of Terrorism efforts through smarter data analysis. BBVA will use AI to improve customer service, streamline workflows, and enhance risk modeling. Employees previously saved nearly three hours weekly using ChatGPT. The bank will also train staff and integrate tools securely across 25 countries. BBVA plans to deploy ChatGPT directly for customer interactions, accelerating its shift to an AI-first banking model.
