IT Home, October 16 news: According to foreign media Kotaku, the fifth season of Battlefield 6, "Siege of Vegas," launched this week, and players soon noticed that a batch of new character skins in this season's battle pass appear to show signs of AI generation.
IT Home learned that one character’s tactical vest is loaded with numerous extra magazines, another character’s gear includes five pistols simultaneously, and a third character’s arm patch misspells the English word “Security” as “Secuty,” with textures exhibiting the typical “blending” artifacts common in AI-generated images. Players are further frustrated that these controversial character designs are not free but are instead included in the season pass. Some players have posted criticisms, arguing that charging players for content that appears to be AI-generated is disrespectful to consumers.

Although the development team has not yet provided a clear response regarding whether these skins were created using generative AI, players actually discovered in December last year that the stickers in the game’s “Bitter Wind” bundle appeared to be AI-generated, depicting an M4A1 assault rifle with dual barrels.
At the same time, EA has been particularly proactive in embracing AI as a force transforming game development. In May 2024, during an earnings call, CEO Andrew Wilson told investors, “We view AI as a powerful accelerator for creativity, innovation, and player connection.” The company encourages employees across all departments—ranging from art design and quality assurance to marketing and customer service—to actively experiment with AI tools in their daily workflows.
