Odaily Planet Daily reports: According to Edison, in response to the recent card data breach, Based’s compliance and operations teams have begun contacting and responding to affected users, have notified Singapore’s Personal Data Protection Commission (PDPC) and relevant regulatory authorities, and have filed a police report, currently cooperating with law enforcement on the investigation. Edison stated that card services are currently operating normally, and Based’s transaction wallet and app remain unaffected. The wallet operates in a self-custodial model, meaning the platform does not hold users’ private keys; social login functionality is supported by Privy, allowing users to continue trading on Based as usual. Regarding external discussions about a “backend leak five months ago,” Edison clarified that this backend is unrelated to the current card data breach and contained no user data. The backend was an early development version of a custodial OpenClaw product tested by the team in March 2026, used solely for limited internal testing; the team later decided not to launch it and has since discontinued development. Edison emphasized that the team’s current priorities include ongoing support for affected users, further strengthening security controls and monitoring systems, and continuing to deliver an improved trading experience.

KuCoinFlashShare
Based has confirmed a security breach involving credit card data, with no impact on its wallet or app. The company has reported the incident to Singapore’s PDPC and filed a police report. A team statement clarified that the breach is unrelated to an admin backend mentioned by users, which was part of a discontinued test product. The wallet remains in self-custody mode. As inflation data continues to be a key concern for traders, the company is focused on user support and enhancing security measures.
