Base co-founder Jesse recently promoted the RUG token during its token launch, drawing sharp criticism from the crypto community. The token, backed by rapper Soulja Boy, has a history of scam-like promotions. ZachXBT accused Jesse of giving a platform to a known promoter of risky token projects. Jesse has also backed several MEME tokens, including the short-lived "Base is for everyone" and his own jesse token, both of which failed to deliver lasting value.
