However, during the subsequent exchange of USDC for ETH, the attacker failed to set adequate slippage protection, resulting in their transaction being sandwiched by MEV bots and arbitrageurs. As a result, the attacker ultimately received only about 67 WETH, worth approximately $129,000, suffering a loss of over 75% of the stolen funds.
