According to ME News, one week after U.S. Bank’s hedge fund clients purchased U.S. equities at nearly record levels on August 12 (UTC+8), investment levels reached their highest since 2008. In a research report led by strategist Jill Carey Hall, the bank noted that for the week ending August 7, clients posted their sixth consecutive week of net purchases of U.S. equities, injecting $4.1 billion into ETFs while withdrawing $2.4 billion from individual stocks. During the same period, both institutional and retail clients net sold, while corporate clients accelerated share buybacks.
