ME News reports that, as of August 24 (UTC+8), according to the Snapshot page, Balancer is voting on whether to extend the claim window for victims of the v2 vulnerability incident in November 2025 by an additional six months, increasing the total claim period from 180 days to 12 months. Approximately $920,000 (roughly 500 ETH) remains unclaimed. The existing claim contract will remain unchanged, and eligible victims may continue to claim their funds according to the original allocation schedule. The team noted that the largest unclaimed amounts correspond to smart contract addresses with known identities. Additionally, funds previously returned by Ethena and ShapeShift due to separate protocol hacks—12,518 USDe and 133,905 USDC respectively—remain held in the DAO multisig wallet and have not yet been incorporated into the claim contract. A decision on the distribution of these funds and other unclaimed assets will be made by the end of 2026. As of publication, four wallet addresses have cast 3,870,936 BAL votes, with 100% in favor; however, this represents only 77.4% of the 5 million BAL quorum requirement. Voting will close on August 26 at 2:00 UTC. (Source: Foresight News)
