BlockBeats news: On March 14, Baidu's Open Source Office announced on GitHub that it is sponsoring the open-source project OpenClaw, becoming the first large Chinese tech company to provide financial support to the project.
The previous day, OpenClaw founder Peter Steinberger extended a collaboration invitation to Baidu on social media, encouraging it not only to deploy the project but also to support its development. Less than 24 hours later, Baidu completed its sponsorship on GitHub.
According to the announcement, OpenClaw’s sponsorship funds will be 100% allocated to community contributors and upstream open-source projects, including developers who submit code, fix bugs, and develop skill plugins. Meanwhile, Baidu will integrate its document parsing capabilities based on PaddleOCR into the OpenClaw ecosystem as a Skill, enabling developers to invoke it within Agent workflows.
